You know how I LOVE coming up with unique breakfast ideas! Well, this one, by far, is the most excellent... I think anyways!!!
I was craving some french toast the other morning but I really didn't want to pull out the griddle and mess with all the clean up and everything that the griddle entails.
So.....
why not do it in the waffle iron?!
I mean the waffle iron is a cinch to clean up.
It takes up minimal space.
It cooks super fast!
And, it beeps to tell me when the food's done!!
Yeah, waffle iron= simple!!
So here it is....
My SUPER Simple French Toast Waffles:
Ingredients:
4 Slices Stale Bread
4 Large Eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp Vanilla
1/4 tsp Lemon Extract-- really only need like 2 drops- just enough to give a hint of a taste
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
In a large bowl, beat your eggs. Mix in all the ingredients except for your bread. You will then dip the bread, one slice at a time, into the egg mixture. Make sure it soaks it up good. It's best to use stale bread so that it will soak up a good amount of egg mixture and it won't fall apart.
Excuse my messy counters!
But, hey, that's real life anyway! :)
This is what your french toast waffle will look like when it's done:
Then, just add a little powder sugar and....
Enjoy!

Looks so yummmy! I do think you come up with the best breakfast recipes! Wish I had a waffle iron girl!
